Signing in and 2FA

Introduction​

This module explains how to sign in to Genkibo and how the two-factor authentication (2FA) system works to protect your account.

Signing in to your account​

For an investor​

  1. Go to the sign-in page.
  2. On the home page, open the sign-in screen intended for investor and company accounts (dedicated link or button).
  3. Enter your email and password.
  4. Click “Sign in”.

For a company​

The process is the same. The company uses the same sign-in form as the investor, because both are “customers” on the platform.

For an administrator​

  1. Go to the admin sign-in page (dedicated section).
  2. Enter your admin credentials.
  3. Click “Sign in”.

Two-factor authentication (2FA)​

What is 2FA?​

2FA (two-factor authentication) is an extra security layer. Even if someone knows your password, they cannot access your account without the code sent to your phone.

How does it work on Genkibo?​

After entering your email and password:

  1. The platform asks for a verification code.
  2. That code is automatically sent by SMS to your registered phone number.
  3. Enter the code in the provided field.
  4. If the code is correct, you access your account.

The 2FA code​

  • The code is single-use: it only works once.
  • It has a limited validity period: use it soon after you receive it.
  • The code is sent by SMS through our secure messaging system.

What if I don’t receive the 2FA code?​

On the code entry page, a “Resend code” link is available.

  1. Click “Resend code”.
  2. A new code is sent to your phone.
  3. The previous code is automatically invalidated.

Checks if you don’t receive the code:

  • Is your phone on and connected to the network?
  • Is the registered number correct? Check in your account settings.
  • Do you have poor network coverage?

Phone confirmation page​

In some cases, the platform may show a “Phone confirmation” page to prompt you to verify that your number is registered and valid.

Signing out​

To sign out securely:

Investor / company​

  • Click your profile in the top right.
  • Select “Sign out”.
  • Your session ends immediately.

Administrator​

  • Same steps from the admin profile menu.

Security tip: Always sign out when using a shared or public device.

Switching between multiple accounts​

If you have both an investor and a company account linked to your profile, you can switch between them without signing out:

  1. Go to your account settings.
  2. Use the “Switch account” option.
  3. Select the account you want to use.

Session security​

Genkibo protects your sessions in several ways:

  • Automatic expiration of inactive sessions.
  • Connection detection: an event is triggered on each sign-in to flag suspicious attempts.
  • Attempt limiting: after several failed attempts, access is temporarily blocked (rate limiting).
